Shilpa Shetty Yoga For Weight Loss:
Eating healthy is important as you start the asanas for a flat stomach. Shilpa recommends the following asanas:
1. Back Asana – Uttanpadasana:
This is also known as the raised leg pose. You can do this asana with either both legs at the same time or one leg at a time.
How To Do:
- Lie down on the floor on your back.
- Lift up your buttocks slightly and slide your hands under your buttocks, palms facing down.
- Slowly raise your legs in the upward direction.
- Hold your legs in a 30 degree angle position and stay still till 5 counts.
- Then move it upwards in a 60 degree angle and hold again for 5 breaths.
- Now finally move it upwards in a 90 degree angle, remain steady and relax.
2. Standing Asana – Standing Side Stretch Pose:
How To Do:
- Stand erect, with your hands beside the body, facing towards the floor.
- Raise your hands up in the air and stretch.
- Bring your hands down.
- Raise your left hand upwards and stretch it towards the right side from over your head.
- Tilt your face in the same direction as your hand.
- Repeat the same on the other side as well. Relax.
3. Variation Asana – Virbhadrasana:
This is known as the warrior pose.
How To Do:
- Stand straight. Keep your feet about 4-5 inches apart from each other.
- Turn your right leg in the right direction and accordingly, turn your left leg in the same direction.
- Raise your hands in the upward direction and stretch.
- Join your palms in prayer position, fingers pointing towards the sky.
- Look upwards and relax.
4. Bending Asana – Padahastasana:
This is known as the forward bending pose.
How To Do:
- Stand straight, with your hands beside the body and fingers pointing downwards.
- Raise your hands up and stretch.
- Bend back slightly.
- Then bend down from your waist region. Push your hips back slightly.
- Touch your toes with your fingers and return back to the standing position. Relax.
